U.S. GoldMining Launches 2026 Exploration Program Targeting District-Scale Gold-Copper Discoveries at Whistler Project, Alaska 1

U.S. GoldMining Inc. Announces Mobilization and Key Details of 2026 Whistler Project Exploration Program

U.S. GoldMining Inc. Announces Mobilization and Key Details of 2026 Whistler Project Exploration Program

Key Highlights for Investors

  • Mobilization of 2026 Exploration Program: U.S. GoldMining Inc. (NASDAQ: USGO) has officially commenced mobilization activities for its 2026 exploration program at the Whistler Gold-Copper Project in Alaska, targeting district-scale growth and multiple high-priority gold-copper prospects.
  • Execution of Growth Strategy: The 2026 program will focus on diamond core drilling across several high-priority targets within the Whistler–Raintree area, aiming to unlock near-deposit upside opportunities and discover new porphyry systems that could drive significant resource growth.
  • Proactive Project Staging: Pre-mobilization of critical equipment and consumables is already complete, positioning the Company to begin summer drilling without delays as soon as weather conditions permit.
  • Strong Economic Foundation:

    • The exploration strategy is underpinned by a robust Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Whistler Project, published March 2, 2026.
    • At base price assumptions (\$3,200/oz gold, \$4.50/lb copper, \$37.50/oz silver), the PEA demonstrates an after-tax NPV (5%) of \$2.0 billion, an IRR of 33%, and a rapid payback period of 2.1 years.
    • At spot prices (\$5,000/oz gold, \$5.85/lb copper, \$70/oz silver), the after-tax NPV (5%) increases to approximately \$4.9 billion, with an IRR of 62% and an extremely rapid payback of just 1.2 years.
  • Significant District-Scale Potential: The 2026 PEA only considers one of three known deposits with mineral resource estimates on the property, highlighting the substantial exploration upside that the current program seeks to unlock.

2026 Whistler Exploration Program – Details and Strategic Focus

Program Objectives: The 2026 exploration campaign will test several advanced targets identified in the 2025 program, each exhibiting strong geological indicators for additional gold-copper porphyry discoveries. The focus is to develop a pipeline of new discoveries to further enhance Whistler’s resource base and long-term value.

  • Whistler Extensions (Near-Deposit Upside): Drilling will target along-strike extensions of the existing Whistler deposit and investigate new copper anomalism zones identified through basal till and bedrock sampling adjacent to current resources.
  • Mammoth & Snow Ridge (District-Scale Potential): These areas, situated 2–3 kilometers north of the Whistler deposit, present large, strongly anomalous gold and/or copper zones with potential to yield significant new discoveries.
  • Raintree Area (Near-Deposit Upside & System-Scale Targets): Widespread gold-copper anomalism here suggests both lateral extensions to the current Raintree deposit and additional regional targets.
  • Hotfoot (“The Look-Alike”) and Sunbowl: An emerging, high-priority target defined by a strong bedrock gold anomaly and a ‘Whistler look-alike’ magnetic signature located just 1 km south of Raintree, as well as further along-strike extensions south of Whistler.

The Company’s CEO, Tim Smith, emphasized the excitement around testing these high-priority targets and the confidence provided by the robust initial PEA results. He indicated that further details on the 2026 program, including Pre-Feasibility level studies, will follow as the season progresses.

Project and Company Overview

  • Project Scale: The Whistler Project comprises several gold-copper porphyry deposits and targets within a 53,700-acre (217.5 km²) land package, 100% owned by U.S. GoldMining Inc., and located 105 miles (170 km) northwest of Anchorage, Alaska.
  • Technical Reports: Detailed technical and economic information is available in the S-K 1300 and NI 43-101 reports, both dated March 2, 2026, accessible through SEC and SEDAR+ platforms.

Potential Price-Sensitive Information for Shareholders

  • The 2026 exploration program aims to unlock substantial new resources at Whistler, which could materially increase the project’s value if successful. This is potentially price-sensitive due to the projected scale and rapid payback of the Whistler PEA, especially in a strong commodity price environment.
  • The PEA’s strong economics (rapid payback, high IRRs, and substantial NPVs at both base and spot prices) provide a compelling investment case, but are based on preliminary assessments and subject to risks and further studies.
  • Only one of three deposits is currently included in the economic assessment, meaning any additional discoveries from this exploration program could significantly improve the Company’s valuation and share price.
  • The Company is proactively mitigating operational risks by pre-mobilizing equipment and supplies, aiming for an efficient and timely execution of the 2026 exploration campaign.

Risks and Forward-Looking Information

  • The PEA results are preliminary in nature and based on numerous assumptions. There is no certainty that the PEA’s economic projections will be realized.
  • Project risks include fluctuating commodity prices, permitting and regulatory delays, capital availability, technical, operational, and environmental challenges, and the inherent uncertainties of exploration and resource estimation.
