FingerMotion Enters Edge AI Inference Compute Market with BlueFlare Partnership and Launches First Alberta Project

FingerMotion Enters Edge AI Compute Market with BlueFlare: Strategic MOU Marks New Growth Phase

FingerMotion Announces Strategic Expansion into Edge AI Inference Compute Market via Partnership with BlueFlare Energy Solutions

Key Points from the Announcement

  • FingerMotion, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNGR) has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BlueFlare Energy Solutions Inc. to develop a distributed network of micro-scale edge AI inference compute sites across Western Canada.
  • The collaboration will initially focus on a prototype site (PR1 Project) in Alberta, anchoring a wider rollout of edge compute and bitcoin mining infrastructure in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
  • BlueFlare will act as FingerMotion’s exclusive partner within the specified Canadian regions for the origination, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing support of co-located AI inference compute and bitcoin mining sites.
  • The network will leverage BlueFlare’s proprietary BALA™ (BlueFlare Adaptive Load Architecture™) platform, designed to dynamically balance AI inference compute workloads with bitcoin mining loads, optimizing site economics and performance.
  • The approach capitalizes on behind-the-meter (BTM) energy from natural gas fields, potentially reducing costs and improving efficiency compared to centralized data centers.

Details of the PR1 Project and Network Strategy

  • PR1 Project: The initial site in Alberta features a 1.0 MW air-cooled Bitcoin mining container equipped with 120 Bitmain Antminer S21 Pro 234T ASICs (plus 6 spares), delivering approximately 28.08 PH/s hashrate. The bitcoin mining load acts as a load-balancing layer for the site.
  • BlueFlare retains ownership of the on-site natural gas generation equipment, supplying electricity directly to FingerMotion’s hardware at a fixed, all-in rate of US\$0.03 per kWh for an initial three-year term (with a 3% annual escalation).
  • The next phase will see BlueFlare constructing a 500 kW containerized AI inference compute data center adjacent to the mining infrastructure, representing FingerMotion’s first operational edge AI site.
  • BlueFlare will oversee all engineering, construction, and integration, deploying its BALA™ technology across generation, mining, and inference compute layers.
  • Further expansion is planned, with additional sites under evaluation and subject to separate agreements, dependent on PR1’s success, capital availability, regulatory approval, and other factors.

Strategic and Shareholder Implications

  • Potential for Significant Revenue Growth: The move into edge AI compute infrastructure opens new revenue streams for FingerMotion, diversifying beyond its core mobile services and technology business.
  • Capital Efficiency and Modular Growth: The distributed model enables incremental financing and deployment, mitigating the risks and high upfront costs of traditional data centers.
  • First-Mover Advantage: With BlueFlare’s exclusive partnership in Western Canada, FingerMotion could secure a leading position in a region with abundant, low-cost natural gas and favorable regulatory environments.
  • Price-Sensitive Factors: While the MOU and LOI are non-binding and subject to due diligence and definitive agreements, the announcement signals a strategic redirection and potential for rapid business growth, both of which are highly relevant to share valuation.
  • Risk Factors: There is no guarantee that the definitive agreements will be executed or that the projects will complete as described. Shareholders should be aware of execution risks, regulatory uncertainties, and that the anticipated benefits are not assured.

Management Commentary

Martin Shen, CEO of FingerMotion: “This collaboration represents an important milestone in our strategy to establish a scalable presence in the rapidly growing AI inference infrastructure market. By collaborating with BlueFlare, we gain access to a highly differentiated platform that combines low-cost behind-the-meter energy, modular compute deployment, and proprietary load-balancing technology designed to maximize asset utilization. If successfully executed, this approach has the potential to accelerate our entry into the edge AI sector, improve capital efficiency, create new revenue opportunities, and enhance long-term shareholder value through exposure to one of the most dynamic segments of the digital infrastructure market.”

Landon Ruszkowski, CEO of BlueFlare Energy Solutions: “Western Canada offers a rare combination of low-cost natural gas, mature energy infrastructure and a regulatory framework that supports BTM compute at scale. Our ‘From Wellhead to Workload’ platform is purpose-built for exactly this kind of distributed deployment, and BALA™ is what makes the per-site economics work. We are pleased to be working with FingerMotion as it plans to enter the Canadian edge compute market, and we believe the PR1 Project will demonstrate the model that the broader network is intended to scale.”
