Details of Leadership Changes

Champion Homes, Inc. (NYSE: SKY) announced significant changes to its senior leadership team following the upcoming retirement of Joseph Kimmell, Executive Vice President of Operations. Kimmell, who has been with the company for nearly three decades, will retire on June 26, 2026, but will remain available as a consultant to facilitate a seamless transition through the end of August.

The board and executive management emphasized that these changes are the culmination of a thorough succession planning process. According to Tim Larson, President and CEO, the new leadership structure aligns the business functions of customer experience, sales, and manufacturing, positioning Champion Homes to execute its growth strategies more effectively.

About the Appointees

Wade Lyall, Chief Sales Officer

With over 25 years in the industry, Lyall brings deep institutional knowledge and leadership to his new role. He began his career at Champion as a Sales Manager and has since held key positions including General Manager at two Georgia plants, Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Regional Vice President of the South Region, and most recently, Vice President of Sales and Business Development. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from East Carolina University.

John Kastanek, Chief Customer Experience Officer

Kastanek has more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning product management, engineering, and customer operations in manufacturing, consumer products, and technology. He joined Champion Homes as Vice President of Marketing and Customer Operations, leading enterprise marketing, digital engagement, go-to-market strategy, and customer insights. Prior to Champion, he spent 17 years at Polaris Industries in roles covering service engineering, product management, and connected strategy. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management.

Andrew Houser, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing

Houser brings over 25 years of experience in manufacturing and retail operations. He joined Champion Homes as part of the Regional Homes acquisition in October 2023 and has led key initiatives, particularly in the Texas region. He was serving as President of Retail Operations prior to this appointment and holds an M.A. in Organizational Management from Dallas Baptist University.

Implications for Shareholders

  • Leadership Stability: The company’s proactive approach to succession planning and the deep experience of the new leadership team may reassure investors about the company’s stability during this transition period.
  • Strategic Alignment: By aligning leadership across customer experience, sales, and manufacturing, Champion Homes is positioning itself for its next phase of growth. This could translate to improved operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, both of which are positive indicators for future financial performance.
  • Potential Impact on Share Price: The departure of a long-tenured executive like Joseph Kimmell is noteworthy, but the presence of experienced successors and a clear transition plan may mitigate any immediate concerns. Investors may view these changes positively if the new leaders can drive growth and execute on strategic priorities.
  • Recent Acquisitions and Integration: The integration of talent from recent acquisitions, such as Regional Homes, suggests Champion is leveraging M&A to bolster its management team and operational capabilities.
