Details

Golden Solar New Energy Technology Holdings Limited (HKEX: 1121) has announced a major milestone in its ongoing HBC solar cell technology project. The company, through its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary Golden Solar (Quanzhou) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., entered into a joint venture with Yiwu JA Solar Technology Company Limited and Gold Stone (Fujian) Energy Company Limited for the upgrade and renovation of HBC solar cell technology.

Under this project, Golden Solar has licensed its HBC patented technology to the joint venture company, enabling them to upgrade former PERC technology lines to the new, higher-efficiency HBC standard.

The first batch of HBC solar cells, produced under the project, has been certified for a 28.2% cell efficiency by TUV Rheinland. This is a leading figure among publicly disclosed HBC cell efficiencies, and validates both the technical and commercial potential of Golden Solar’s technology.

The company’s technical team has been actively involved with JA Solar, assisting in the creation of a research and development line and a small-scale mass production line. The project is now preparing to transition to large-scale mass production, which could rapidly accelerate the deployment and market adoption of HBC technology.

The Board sees this as a key turning point for the Group’s business. The HBC technology licensing model, including specialized pastes and technical services, is expected to gain further industry recognition and generate new growth opportunities. The company will continue to promote the commercialization of its HBC patented technology, specialized materials, and technical services.

Investors should note that this announcement is likely to be price sensitive, as it signals a transition from R&D towards commercialization, which can significantly affect the Group’s revenue streams and future profitability.

The company will make further announcements as progress continues and in accordance with applicable listing rules and legal requirements.
