Stocks slipped Friday as weak U.S. job data heightened concerns about economic slowdown. Airline stocks bucked the market downturn. American Airlines rose 2.6%, Delta and JetBlue gained 1.4%, United Airlines climbed 1.2%, and Southwest added 0.6% after reports said the Trump administration plans to cancel Biden-era passenger compensation rules.

Small caps also showed strength. The Russell 2000 gained 0.8% for the week, marking a fifth straight positive streak, though it lags behind the S&P 500’s year-to-date performance.
